Your analysis seems myopic.

The way I see it, Whole Foods didn't really want to acquire the Wild Oats properties, they wanted to destroy a sizable competitor. And yes, that constitutes monopolistic practices regardless of whether the stores keep give Whole Foods a monopoly or not.

In the bigger picture do you believe that trashing the Wild Oats name and 67 stores before they "sell" them somehow does no harm?
