Comments

I love eating fish but once I became aware of the extent of depletion of some of my favourite types, I was horrifed. There is a number of fish I just won't eat anymore.

But while I agree it's well past time for authorities to take action, we as consumers can't sit on our hands while we wait for them to get on with it.

We can have an impact by making sustainable choices at the fishmonger or supermarket. The Marine Conservation Society publishes an up-to-date comprehensive checklist of what's sustainable and what's not, under the helpful categories Fish to Eat and Fish to Avoid at http://www.fishonline.org/

Good fishing, Julie
