The Aurora dairy has been problematic for some time. Whole Foods refused to buy milk from them after they toured the CO facility.

QAI on the other hand is in a difficult situation. Back in the good old days, certifiers did not accept paperwork from one another. That was a driving force for Federal regulation of Organics, to harmonize the certifiers. All certifiers are accredited by the USDA so it would be illegal not to accept a certified product form another certifier.

To an outside observer it may look like bull, but QAI was following the Federal Regulations. Dammed if you do; dammed if you don't

George, I understand their position but it would seem to me, if there was some question about the origin of the animals, they would be obliged ethically if not legally to say something to the company or better yet, report their concerns to the NOP. But maybe they're claiming pure ignorance, that they didn't know anything was wrong. In light of the controversy that was already quite public, I find it hard to believe they did not even question anything.
